The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Technical Co-op/Intern - Mechanical Engineering in Akron, Ohio

Goodyear's Research, Development, Engineering & Quality (RDE&Q) organization is responsible for delivering high-quality products and growing Goodyear's innovation capability globally. Goodyear's technical organization consists of 2,200 associates worldwide. Development work occurs in two Goodyear Innovation Centers, including Akron, Ohio and Luxembourg; with development centers in Hanau, Germany and Pulandian, China.

The RDE&Q Co-op/Intern Program at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company provides engineering and science students with practical work experience in their chosen field prior to graduation and allows the organization to build a pipeline of candidates for future permanent openings. Throughout the co-ops and internships, students gain a better understanding of the various job opportunities available throughout the organization related to their field of study. The program also helps students determine the type of work that best suits them and make sound career decisions upon graduation. Ideally, many of the RDE&Q co-ops and interns become permanent Goodyear associates after graduation.

Requirements (Qualifications):

* Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in the following areas: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology.

* Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred

* Must have completed first year of classes (incoming sophomore level or higher)

* Prior engineering co-op/internship experience strongly preferred

* Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills

Tasks:

- Students studying engineering or science have the opportunity to work in one of many diverse areas of RDE&Q such as:
