CGI is seeking a Technical Architect for one of the largest HealthCare EMR system implementations in the northeast.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Hands-on technical role responsible for solution architecture and technical leadership, and will report to the Project Lead/Manager
S/he will work collaboratively with the CGI Project Lead, CGI technical and testing team, Client Technical Department Program Manager and Center for Information Technology staff to implement the project
Responsible for application solution architecture, infrastructure architecture, technical design and implementation of the overall solution
Responsible for recommending and assisting in the development of strategies to upgrade software infrastructure, migrate middleware, re-design database, implement ETL and real-time HL7 interface to the EMR system
The successful candidate will have experience with, detailed knowledge of, or a willingness to manage software development efforts according to the Agile Software Development Methodology.
Maintain traceability of design and development activities to requirements; Work with testing team to plan, build and execute test plans, data and scenarios;
Work with configuration manager to help ensure that environments and environment resources are correctly set up
Ensure quality of code and deliverables is in line with project and industry standards.
Ensure client expectations are being appropriately established and met regarding technical design
Lead and participate in the technical design, development and bug fix of the code and work with technical resources to achieve project delivery goals
Optimize efficiency and effectiveness of development efforts.
Provide status to Project lead for technical area.
Initiate, manage and drive project-level escalations with project lead
Ensure all work products are properly internally and externally reviewed as required.
Work with staff to ensure processes & procedures are defined and followed.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
At least 10 years experience building complex data driven applications using Microsoft technologies
At least 7 years of experience as senior developer and technical lead implementing .NET web MVC based applications using C# and .NET technologies (ASP.NET, ADO.NET and others)
At least 5 years experience as technical architect and technical team lead implementing RIA/SPA/Ajax based web applications from beginning to end
At least 5 years experience implementing service oriented architecture using SOAP or REST, XML and JSON
At least 3 years experience implementing message based application (BizTalk or similar)
At least 3 years experience with either Adobe Flex or Rich Client Applications or Single Page Application frameworks like React or Angular or Silver Light
At least 4 years experience in Oracle database development. Extensive PL/SQL and Stored Packages/procedures experience, SQL*Loader and other ETL experience
At least 3 years experience implementing reporting and integration solutions using SSIS and SSRS or Crystal Reports
Excellent knowledge of solution architecture, technical architecture, infrastructure architecture and database architecture
Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of complex technical solutions including calm under pressure and the ability to solve problems.
Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients at multiple locations.
Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and track work to completion.
Schedule flexibility, particularly during period leading up to delivery milestones and deliverable handoffs.
Working knowledge of JIRA Agile, Confluence, Source Control systems like Bit Bucket/Team Foundation Server, Test Automation (like NUnit and Selenium) and Continuous integration
Experience with an Agile and Iterative Software Development methodology and Test driven development methodology
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and Adobe Acrobat
Desired: Competency with ColdFusion, Apache/Adobe Flex, ActionScript and remoting protocols
Desired: Working knowledge of the Healthcare, EMR foundation modules, Scheduling systems and HL7 messaging interface or similar standards based message processing
Environment - Adobe Flex/C#/ASP.NET/ADO.NET/REST/MVC/Oracle/VistA /Unix Environment / Agile Development
