Business Relations Manager (BRM), Multiple Sclerosis
Territory: Dallas, TX
In this field based position, the Business Relations Manager (BRM) will be the field subject matter expert relating to product procurement, buy & bill processes, billing and coding, contracting, financial assistance offerings patient support, access, medical policy and other business related issues within MS Business Unit.
In addition, they will help support product reimbursement through the development of relationships with local thought leaders and practice managers. Within a highly competitive marketplace, they will be called upon to successfully help develop and execute the national infusion strategy set forth in the launch plan by building reimbursement confidence and understanding with customers, The BRM will report to the Director, Business Relations (East, Central, or West).
BRMs will be subject matter experts on product procurement as it relates to buy & bill processes, billing and coding education, financial assistance offerings from MS One to One, provider contracting and issue resolution pertaining to the purchase and billing of Genzyme‘s infused MS product by health care providers.
Plan and implement geographic business plans to support appropriate access to Genzyme’s infused MS therapy.
In collaboration with the sales teams, spend a majority of time in the field educating, contracting, and triaging issues with health care providers who administer IV infused drugs in the office or health care facility settings of care. Additionally, educate office personnel on appropriate billing codes (J or Q codes, ICD-10 codes, etc.) and provide support in triaging contracting, billing and coding, access and procurement questions and other issues where appropriate.
Establish positive and productive working relationships with all key customer segments (internal and external).
Develop working relationships with state societies, associations and advocacy groups, as needed, to support patient access and raise overall awareness for Genzyme.
Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with Area Business Managers (ABMs), Regional Business Directors (RBD), Thought Leader Liaisons (TLLs), Infusion Support Managers (ISMs), Patient and Provider Services, Market Access, Internal Leadership, and all other departments necessary in order to support access to Genzyme’s infused MS therapy.
BA/BS Degree required, preferably in life science or business, MBA a plus
Minimum 10 years' experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
4-7 years pharmaceutical/biotech business relations experience, with an infused drug, and with demonstrated exceptional results
Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary - additional travel will be required within the assigned geography.
Demonstrated success of cross functional teamwork and working in a matrix environment (sales, market access, customer service, medical affairs, marketing, etc…)
Valid driver's license
MS experience preferred
MS or Oncology physician reimbursement experience preferred
Must be energetic and driven to succeed
Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills required
Strong understanding and experience supporting infused products, especially in the provider office and health care facility settings of care
Significant experience and understanding of the ever changing payer environment and its impact on patient access to products infused in provider offices and health care facility settings of care.
Must achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable Genzyme policies and procedures and regulatory and legal requirements, and require the same of his/her team
50%-60% Travel, depending on geography #LI-GZ
