Subject Matter Expert (SME)

The SME performs vulnerability assessments for National Security Systems and works with the Policy Group that supports these activates.

  • Partners with senior Agency leadership to provide strategic support to help improve performance by analyzing needs, identifying gaps, and proposing solutions.

  • Serves as a performance change agent and influences stakeholder decisions by “selling” strategic changes.

  • Develops networks and alliances, and collaborates across boundaries with a wide range of stakeholders within industry, academia, and Government.

  • Provides operational planning and execution expertise to teams.

  • Advises and supports the organization in the development of solutions for technical and operational issues.

  • Develops plans, strategies and gathers information leading to full service support to U.S. Military and civilian customers.

  • Coordinates, reviews, and develops proposed improvements to crisis planning, policies, operation plans, and exercise requirements of civilian and military customers.

*All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph

Basic Qualifications:

In Information Technology, SIGINT, or Information Assurance technical or managerial field, the individual shall possess at least:

  • Twenty (20) years and no degree.

  • Eighteen (18) years and a relevant Associate’s Degree.

  • Sixteen (16) years and a relevant Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Fourteen (14) yrs and a relevant Master’s Degree.

Relevant Degrees: Any degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Political Science, Business/Finance, or Math.

Relevant Certificates: n/a

Individual shall have at least ten (10) years' experience in cyber security leadership positions, such as senior scientist, operations manager of cyber security group with fifty (or more) employees, military/Government leadership positions in planning or execution of cyber defense/operations, or senior management position in an IT company. Experience with performing needs and trend analysis and impact studies. Managing a SharePoint portal. Experience with agency and processes and procedures.

Individual shall have a combination of two (2) or more of the following skills:

  • At least five (5) years' experience in Information Assurance and Computer Network Defense (CND).

  • At least five (5) years' experience in SIGINT operations, specifically Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) operations.

  • At least five (5) years' experience in CND or CNE mission planning and execution.

  • At least five (5) years' experience in SIGINT systems supporting CNE or CND.
