The individual will work and assist the Manufacturing Engineers on work projects as needed and directed.
Through the use of AutoCAD, new and existing layouts are drawn and designed to aid in plant expansion and equipment placement
The Manufacturing Engineers will have ideas or specific needs for such things as jigs/fixtures or workstations. The intern student works with the engineer and production personnel to develop a design that aids the manufacturing process
Different processes and assembly line operations can be studied by the use of videotape and/or timing equipment. The intern student gets involved with actual time studies by timing and/or taking videos of the work being performed on the shop floor and results are then put into meaningful data
Intern students may become involved in developping Gantt Charts that show the progression of projects. The student may also have the opportunities to manage projects from start to finish which may include activities such as establishing project timelines, financial analysis, procurement of materials, and establishing vendor contacts.
