Founded in 1955, Pacific Architects and Engineers Incorporated (“PAE”) is a global provider of expeditionary services to a range of customers, including the U.S. government, international agencies and allied foreign governments. In 2006, PAE became a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lockheed Martin Corporation (“LMC”). In April 2011, private investments firm Lindsay Goldberg (“LG”) purchased PAE from LMC. Six months later, in October 2011, PAE completed the acquisition of Defense Support Services, LLC (“DS2”), a leading provider of military aircraft and vehicle maintenance, logistics and base support services. In July 2013, PAE closed the acquisition of the Applied Technology Division (“ATD”) of CSC, a $700 million in sales business unit that provides range test and training services, aviation maintenance and operations and maintenance services to a diverse customer base. In 2015 PAE completed two additional acquisitions and today, PAE is a global company of approximately $2.2 billion in sales.

PAE is looking to establish a strong Finance and accounting organization, capable of supporting its projected growth in 2015 and beyond. To support its ambitious strategic plan, PAE is seeking a highly qualified Vice President and Corporate Controller to lead the general accounting, technical accounting, SEC reporting, Tax, and financial shared services functions of the Corporation. This position will report directly to the CFO. As part of the executive leadership team, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the entire finance and accounting organization

  • Identify, hire, retain, coach a team of highly qualified accounting professionals

  • Leads the strategic direction for the accounting function including the implementation of financial systems

  • Implement accounting policies and procedures in accordance with U.S. GAAP

  • Ensure design and operating effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting in accordance with the COSO framework

  • Oversee the monthly internal financial reporting process

  • Manage the preparation of the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements

  • Manage the relationship with the external auditors including discussion of technical accounting issues, policy/ US GAAP interpretations and reviews/audits on a quarterly/annual consolidated financial statements

  • Advise the Business Units and Programs on contract accounting and financial accounting matters

  • Oversee the Company’s financial shared services in Dubai and the US which include Payroll, Accounts Payable, Billing, Travel and General Accounting

  • Liaison with outside Auditors

  • Intergradation of acquisitions into PAE


  • 15 or more years of progressive finance and accounting experience

  • Experience managing teams of over 50 people

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business-related field

  • MBA or Master’s in Finance

  • CPA

  • Public accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting

  • Experience in a large corporate accounting organization desired

  • US Government Contracting experience with understanding of FAR and CAS Compliance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively communicate across organizational boundaries, extensive, daily interface with the executive management team, global accounting organizations

  • Strong governance and compliance oversight

  • Breadth of business management experience and ability to lead employees in a matrix organization

  • International business experience

  • Proven change agent, will lead significant transformation of PAE Accounting and Financial Services functions

  • Ability to travel internationally

  • Prior experience with integrating acquisitions
