The Justice Sector Support Program (JSSP) seeks a Technical Director. Duties are as follows:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide programmatic support and technical assistance to COT and DCOT, to ensure that project deadlines are met, and to produce reports as identified in the statement of work.

The Technical Director shall:

  • coordinate with all team members to get information from them on weekly activities;

  • produce weekly JSSP reports;

  • write work plan elements from Kabul;

  • work with team management to track projects and deadlines;

  • coordinate with each JSSP Section to maintain record keeping on all statistics related to JSSP activities and develop and write reports

  • provide these reports regularly to INL/Kabul and INL/Washington;

  • assist in the development, revision if necessary, and monitoring of the JSSP work plan;

  • assist JSSP team members in revision of GIRoA Ministry strategies as required;

  • file reports for team activities and accomplishments on an advance, weekly, quarterly and annual basis, or as otherwise assigned by the COT/DCOT-A; and

  • assist in writing the work plans and statements of work.

Position is located in a combat zone. Applicant must have the desire and necessary temperament to work in an austere and kinetic environment.


  • Graduate Degree in Related Discipline.

  • Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited university preferred.

  • Demonstrated professional maturity, solid interpersonal and teambuilding skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Social Media.

  • Experience in giving presentations;

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English is mandatory.
