Backbase Sales Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia

The opportunity

The Sales Engineer will join our sales team based in our Atlanta office and will report to our Head of Sales Engineering based at Global Headquarters in Amsterdam. You will have experience running POCs, hands on Java and/or Javascript experience and strong presentation skills. This position will support efforts in the later stages of the sales cycle to be a big contributor in closing large enterprise sales deals. You will work on RFP responses and perform technical deep dives of the Backbase platform once adequately trained on the product suite. This position will require occasional global travel from time to time, but mostly supporting US opportunties.

We are seeking for a highly motivated Sales Engineer who will be supporting multiple pre-sales cycles and contribute to structurally improving Backbase's pre-sales assets (e.g. samples, product demo's).

The roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Presenting business and technical presentations; • Performing Demo’s of our software • Leading (Project Manager) Proof of Concepts & Prototyping; • Solution mapping & implementation approach; • Hardware sizing; • Creating re-usable presales assets (e.g. demos, RFP responses); • Provide feedback to Backbase product management (roadmap input based on customer requirements); • Assisting Account Managers in closing deal.

Your profile

The ideal candidate must be able to articulate the business value of Backbase software and position it in competitive scenarios. In details the desired qualifications are:

• Strong technical presentation skills; in the areas of Java and/or Javascript and Enterprise Architecture • Willingness to travel (min. 30%); • Strong communication; • Understanding of programming skills (hands-on) – like Front-end code JS, CSS, HTML (5) with an emphasis on JavaScript; • Basic Java knowledge; • Detailed knowledge of web technologies; • A strong eye and passion for next generation dynamic web 2.0 modern application design and user experience; • Experience in defining enterprise software architectures (addressing topics like security, scalability deployment, performance and risk management) is a plus; • Hands-on experience on integration scenarios with various back-end systems (e.g. CMS, CRM, ESB, BPM, etc) is a plus; • Experience with application integration (SOA) is a plus.
