Position Description: The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for all aspects of diagnostic and interventional procedures performed in the Specials Suite. Performs technical duties utilizing various types of equipment to image selected vascular structures or therapeutic intervention. Principles of positioning, radiographic sciences, and radiation protection are exercised with specialized techniques. Assists and supports the physicians with invasive procedures. Has responsibility for patient charge entry, availability of procedure supplies and inventory management. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David's Healthcare Values.

Education/Experience: Required:Graduate of an America Medical Association- approved program in Radiologic Technology. 6 - 12 months related experience. Preferred: Prefer experience in angiography and therapeutic intervention lab.

Licenses/Certifications: Required:

- MRT Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certificate or Temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist Certificate - Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists American Registry or Radiologic Technology (ARRT, RTR), 6 months post hire; and obtain certification ARRT VI or CI two years post assignment - ARRT Vascular-Interventional and/or Cardiac Interventional Radiology - American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS) and ACLS within 2 years post assignment.
