Fire Systems Technician

Position Description This is a technician position primarily based at the Union III location in Baghdad, Iraq and will be associated with the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) department. The Fire Systems Technician reports to the Fire Systems Supervisor and will operate/maintain and repair all Fire Alarm Systems and accessory systems for building interiors and exteriors on Union III.. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. DUTIES: - Inspects, tests, maintains, and repairs installed fire alarm detection and suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and National Fire Protection Association standards (NFPA) - Inspect and test Ansul Hood suppression systems. - Inspect all fire extinguishers as required by NFPA. - Perform elevator recall test. - Flow and test Fire Hydrants. - Inspect and Test Fiber Optic decibel loss - Performs tests on all exterior and interior indicating devices including audio speakers, strobes, bells, horns, pull stations, fire flows and tamper switches.


EXPERIENCE: - - Must have three years’ experience as a Journeyman Fire Alarm System Mechanic. Must have one year experience with National Fire Protection Association standards - Knowledge of applicable US Codes and accepted trade practices - Previous supervisory experience in an OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce is desirable - Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently REQUIRED: - Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required - Security Vetting: Must have an active MRPT clearance as required by the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of the contract - Language Skills: Strong professional English communication skills, both oral and written - Citizenship: US Citizenship is not required for this position - Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination DESIRED: - Relevant overseas Fire Alarm experience - Experience working with PAE OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in operating and supporting Fire Alarm functions at an overseas facility - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules - Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel - Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team - Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change - Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information PAE is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
