This is a trade’s position, based at the Baghdad Embassy Compound(BEC), Iraq and will be associated with the Power Generation Section. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring C generators are fully operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This position reports to the BEC Generator Mechanic Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. DUTIES: - Become proficient in the use and completion of work orders (WO) produced by the Work Orders for Windows (WOW) database - Develop a comprehensive knowledge of: - O&M contract (SAQMMA-12-D-0165) - Request for Proposal (SAQMMA-12-R-0012-A001) - C.D.3 Operations - C.3.E.7 BEC Electrical Systems - C.4 O&M Life Support Systems - Fire Emergency Plan - Quality Control Plan (QCP) - O&M Plan - Safety Plan - Quality Control Plan (QCP) - Emergency Action Plans - Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all BEC generators - Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair generators - Conduct inspections of work, processes and tests; collect and analyze data to determine trends; track deficiencies; recommend corrective actions - Prepare and submit detailed reports on findings and recommendations to the Lead Power Plant Operator/Mechanic - Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead Power Plant Operator/Mechanic


EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of three years’ experience as a Journeyman Generator Mechanic. Experience with 1-MV Caterpillar generators highly desirable - Ability to read and interpret contracts, standards and technical procedures - Ability to work effectively with multi-national staff and demanding customers REQUIRED: - Education: A high school diploma (or equivalent). Completion of a generator Apprenticeship program with a Journeyman’s license or certificate is required - Security Vetting: Must be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification level for the duration of the contract - Language Skills: Strong, professional, oral and written English communication skills - Citizenship: US Citizenship is not required for this position - Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination DESIRED: - Relevant overseas contract experience - Experience working with PAE experience OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in operating and supporting generator functions at an overseas facility - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules - Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel - Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team - Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change - Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information PAE is an equal opportunity employer and drug- free workplace.
