T. Rowe Price is seeking a lead C#/.Net developer for our Asset Allocation Technology Team in Baltimore, MD. He or she will work as software developer, with primary responsibility for designing, developing, and testing solutions to meet needs of business partners. The person must perform their role with minimal direction, but in a team setting.


Works closely with others on the technology team to develop software solutions to meet needs of business partners. Executes all phases of software development lifecycle using an agile methodology. This responsibility includes software analysis, design, development (in multiple languages), testing, and deployment. Assists with the development of software documentation. Communicates daily with team members on progress.

Works with business partners to understand requirements and design technical solutions. Regularly interacts with business partners of varying associate/management levels to ensure clarity of the problem. Helps to estimate the size of the effort required to complete complex, moderate to large scale software enhancements and maintenance.

Assists in the support of software systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues. This includes communicating with business partners and the technology team regarding problems, investigating issues, and performing problem resolution. Documents resolution appropriately. Escalates issues as needed.

Mentors and coaches less-experienced Solutions Consultants and associates across the firm.

Continuously seeks to expand knowledge of Investments practice and theory to create efficiencies and/or mitigate risk via people/process/technology changes for the business.



  • College degree in technical field like engineering or computer science

  • Experience with company in financial industry

  • Experience in an agile development environment (e.g. Scrum or Kanban)

  • Experience with database development (e.g. MS SQL Server, SQL, stored procedure writing)

  • Experience with web service development (e.g. SOAP, WebAPI, REST, JSON)

  • Experience with .NET web front-end development (e.g. MVC, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS)

  • Experience with SSIS, SSRS, WinForms/WPF, VB.NET, Powershell

  • Experience with development and deployment of cloud-based software (Azure, AWS)

  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)

  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)


  • College degree and 5 years of related work experience, or

  • Associate degree and 7 years related work experience, or

  • High School diploma/equivalent and 8 years related work experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Process-oriented and logical thinker

  • Demonstrated advanced analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to change

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into quality software

  • Demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to complex problems

  • Ability to meet with business partners to understand, gather, document, and analyze system requirements

  • Experience in full software development lifecycle

  • Experience with the design and implementation of significant n-tier software solutions

  • Experience developing object-oriented software in C# language

  • Experience decomposing work into tasks with time estimates

  • Ability to work closely with technical team members in the fast-paced, agile-development environment.
