Job Description Overview
The Discovery Supplier Consultant is responsible for independently managing seller interactions related to the Ariba Discovery solution. Key responsibilities include researching and contacting sellers to educate them on the Ariba Discovery solution as well as encouraging sellers to register and respond to postings created by Ariba’s Buyer community. A Discovery Supplier Consultant is expected to quickly demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects with large supply bases simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting commodity based research to identify suppliers who are a good fit for sourcing opportunities that have been posted by Ariba’s buyer community
Increasing knowledge in various commodities to effectively conduct research and discuss opportunities with sellers
Contacting sellers to provide education on the value of the Ariba Discovery solution and encouraging them to respond to sourcing opportunities that have been posted by Ariba’s buyer community
Effectively tracking and communicating seller responses to the Discovery leadership team as needed
Contribute to best practices and innovative ideas to achieve business targets
Proposing solution enhancements to improve seller adoption of the Ariba Discovery solution
Contribute to documentation, process and training methodology improvements
Work collaboratively with global team members to share knowledge and best practices
Basic Minimum Qualifications
High level of achievement in a Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with external customers or suppliers
Good Communication and Analytical Skills
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
Knowledge of any of Ariba’s solutions. Ex: Sourcing Professional, Ariba Discovery, Ariba Network, etc.
High level of fluency in other languages
1-3 years of professional experience
Experience contacting global suppliers and conducting research via the internet
Experience in both indirect and direct sourcing/procurement
Prior inside or outside sales experience
Conducting virtual training to external customers or suppliers
