Duties and Responsibilities
Fulfill roles as both a dedicated member of a company-wide documentation team and an integrated, co-located member of an engineering team that uses an "agile" (also known as eXtreme Programming) development process.
Work closely with engineering team members on a daily basis to provide design feedback and user interface text and documentation in short, five-week engineering sprints.
Plan and track own work assignments and deliver assignments on schedule.
Represent documentation team in engineering.
Document new features and maintain current documentation set.
Become an active member in Ariba’s emerging user community by creating new content for the community, respond to feedback on existing content, or answer user questions.
We want to talk to you if:
You have at least five years experience writing technical documentation, ideally for large enterprise resource planning systems.
You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven engineering environment.
Your technical aptitude allows you to learn new features, products, and solutions quickly. You are able to grasp how features work and how they relate to other parts of the product. You love working with complex technical systems.
You have written for a multitude of audiences – end users, administrators, system integrators, business managers, support and services organizations, partners and resellers.
You have a clear writing style and superb content organization skills.
You are comfortable working with developers to advocate for the user experience and know how to represent documentation requirements during product design and implementation.
You have a strong command of English grammar and are able to self-edit.
You are able to manage writing tasks for multiple, overlapping product releases and deliver on schedule without compromising quality.
