The primary responsibility of the Commercial Sales Executive is to build and manage a pipeline of software license opportunities and incremental revenue. The Commercial Sales Executive drives opportunity qualifications and manages the opportunities in the pipeline directly or with channel partners. As an integral part of the account team, the Commercial Sales Executive leverages other SAP resources, including presales teams, Business Development teams. The Commercial Sales Executive closes deals independently or actively through partners.


  • Directly interact with CXO to position the value of SAP ERP for the Consumer Industry as supported by ROI, business case development, references, and supporting analyst data.

  • Demonstrate creativity in driving new concepts, business models, and providing Consumer Industry feedback to SAP’s product development and marketing teams in support of delivery of phenomenal new solutions to the market.

  • Brief SAP executives on account strategies, drive executive interaction and meetings with CXO contacts at Customer base.

  • Assemble, prepare, and manage the Virtual Account Team consisting of Solution Engineers, Customer Engagement Managers, Strategic Partners and other relevant roles so that SAP's solutions are well positioned in the account.

  • Identify, Recruit, and Close new Customers within the Consumer Industry and through specialized partners.

  • Pursue professional and personal development to ensure adequate knowledge of the Consumer industry SAP serves as well as the products and services SAP provides.

  • Update on a consistent, timely, and accurate basis SAP's CRM system with accurate customer and pipeline information. Timely and complete administrative tasks like expense reports, etc.


  • Master degree, preferably in business

  • Proven sales ability and drive

  • Good IT or enterprise resource planning knowledge; an understanding of SAP solutions is an asset.

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong facility with teamwork and an ability to learn and adapt quickly

  • Strong customer focus and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to articulate the SAP value proposition clearly in an industry context and to listen actively to customers to identify prioritized customer needs

  • Ability to work independently with a strong drive for results

  • Knowledge and understanding of Indirect channel dynamics

  • Knowledge of ERP Market


  • Minimum of 4 years´ experience in complex solution sales

  • Successful experience in multichannel go-to-market models
