General / E2E View
The Procurement Specialist works on purchasing projects of moderate to diverse complexity and scope.
Applies procurement knowledge to execute a variety of common or moderate projects supporting client’s needs, strategic business goal of the function and financial objectives
Works independently within given area of responsibility (within defined guidelines, policies and processes)
Evaluates circumstances and is able to discuss issues and makes recommendations; gets advice in order to make decisions
Need to interact with local, regional or global counterparts (internal and external), up to mid-level (internally), to achieve desired results
May participate in procurement projects with cross-regional or cross-category focus
Strategy / Market Intelligence
Contributes to strategy execution
Makes proposals for topics to be considered in the strategy
Knows and understands the SAP corporate strategy and the strategy of his/her area of procurement
Conduct market analysis and track market trends
Sourcing / Negotiating / Contract Management
Demonstrates good capacity for sourcing, analyzing proposals, negotiating, contracting and evaluating suppliers in accordance with best practices for moderate business requirements
Uses the given processes and tools for bidding and contracting
Understands the LoB requirements
Executes sourcing projects on a local and global level according to established project plans
Negotiates new contracts or renegotiates existing contracts
Follows the given process and guidelines for contract management
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS :
Stakeholder Management / Supplier Management
Works closely with GPO and GFA colleagues and LoB teams of his/her area for procurement
Is aware of the LoBs demands and considers them on a regular basis
Provide customer feedback to the team or manager
Maintains the relationship with internal customers and suppliers
Works with existing supplier on getting the best value for specific procurement demand
Selects appropriate suppliers from existing supplier base
Manages preferred supplier lists for his/her area
- Consolidates fact & figures and understands reporting for the respective area of work
- Builds and maintains an internal and external network to seek for knowledge and experience
Compliance / Risk management
Ensures compliance with the SAP Global Purchasing Policy and all other specific policies
Maintains all necessary documents to ensure transparency and audit compliance.
Reduces risks by following the given procedures and guidelines, informs about potential risks
Value generating / Innovation / Improvements
Contributes to savings targets within assigned purchasing projects and adds value by ensuring quality and efficiency
Supports in implementing process improvements
Ability to come up with and share new ideas
Contributes to procurement projects and participates in procurement cross functional initiatives with moderate level of complexity
Provides regular updates to manager or project manager on project status
3 years relevant experience in purchasing or equivalent (e.g. advanced degree in purchasing or related field)
Fluent in English
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
University degree preferably in Business Administration, engineering or a related field
Knowledge of purchasing systems desirable.
