Senior Software Developer
The engineer will join SeaHawk Research and Development team that creates state of the art software for semiconductor analysis. ANSYS SeaHawk is the first ANSYS product based on the new SeaScape Elastic Compute Architecture for Electronic Design Automation (EDA). Designed to handle extremely large data sets and computations across distributed machines, ANSYS SeaScape allows designers of advanced system-on-chip designs (SoCs) to assess more electromigration (EM) and voltage drop (IR) scenarios per day and develop a high-level of confidence of their design prior to sign-off.
Demonstrate expertise in the code and the team’s software development processes. Help to continuously improve both software and processes.
Lead complex projects involving multiple developers in one or more areas of the product.
Evaluate multiple approaches to technical problems and be able to recommend one solution after considering limitations and challenges.
Build a deep understanding of the domain and know-how the product fits into the user’s design flow.
Communicate clearly with others regarding project status and risks, and to ensure that work is aligned with the business unit strategy.
Serve as a role model for excellent software skills and a source of domain expertise within the business unit.
Diagnose and fix code problems.
Deliver code that meets requirements on schedule. Ensure that code is efficient, scalable, maintainable, extensible, robust and easy to understand.
Optimize code to improve tool run time and memory capacity.
Create unit, regression and/or system-level tests to thoroughly validate new features or changes.
JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
MTech or BE/BTech degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field, with minimum relevant work experience: MTech + three years or BE/BTech + five years
5+ years’ experience in C++ with broad and deep understanding of the language.
Strong working knowledge of the Linux operating system
Strong background in data structures, algorithms, and debugging
Solid understanding of electronic design at gate level and/or transistor level
Demonstrated technical leadership, and successful delivery of projects involving multiple engineers.
Ability to learn quickly, understand complex systems and to work closely with others across multiple teams
Ability to handle uncertainty, time pressure and large technical challenges
Ability to deliver high-quality work on time
- Demonstrated skills in the following areas are a plus: oSuccessful large-scale commercial software development oDevelopment, debugging and optimization of systems using distributed processing oExperience with the Python programming language oIC physical design oParasitic extraction for advanced semiconductor nodes oGUI development for physical design or analysis tools
