Bayer Manager Potency Day shift (Core business hours) in Berkeley, California
Your tasks and responsibilities
Position purpose; Provides leadership, management and oversight for assigned Quality. Control functions including: related sample analysis, improvement projects, establishing timelines, and ensuring departmental goals and metrics are met.
Major tasks and responsibilities of position 1. Provide effective leadership including: setting individual and department objectives, employee evaluations, leading departmental meetings, providing performance feedback, recognition employee contributions, coaching and development of staff. 2. Support the potency team’s responsibilities for the performance of One-Stage and Chromogenic Potency testing within the Quality Control organization. 3. Responsible for daily lab operations, including scheduling, staffing, training and troubleshooting to ensure all operations are in full compliance with applicable SOPs and safety guidelines. 4. Provide guidance and risk assessment for the resolution of discrepancies, Out of Specification, Unexpected results, lab investigations and Corrective and Preventative Actions. 5. Routinely interact with global colleagues, regulatory agencies, customers and internal auditors/inspectors. 6. Represent QC at operational and cross-functional meetings, prepare and present information, provide decision making support at meetings and disseminates information back to QC.
Who you are

More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following; Bachelor's degree in science or a related field. Minimum 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or related industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in automated potency/clinical/in vitro biological activity testing. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
