Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary NURSE PRACTITIONER in Boston, Massachusetts
Description The Nurse Practitioner of Employee Health developments and manages the Health Program at Mass Eye and Ear sites to ensure regulatory compliance and to promote a healthy workplace for all workers. In addition, this individual is responsible for implementing all elements of the Occupational Health Program by providing occupational health services to maintain optimum levels of health, to minimize work-related injuries, illnesses and disabilities and to contain medical costs. It is a great opportunity to build the program and improve efficiencies, need the ability to adapt in a fast paced environment and work collaboratively. Utilizes a full range of clinical skills in accordance with rules and regulations of the Expanded Nursing Practice Act and under the auspices of the board of Nursing Registration.
Requirements Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Currently certified by the American Nurses Association as Nurse Practitioner. Masters of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the expanded role of nurse practitioner in Massachusetts.
A minimum of two years nursing experience including medical/surgical skills.
A minimum of two years’ experience in Occupational Health nursing including job experience in occupational health and safety principles and infectious disease practices.
Demonstrates leadership abilities, able to work under stressful situations, and process well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge in adult education principles.
Membership in professional organization AAOHN (optional).
Proficiency in the art and science of Occupational Health and Safety.
