Description The Dana lab at Schepens Eye Research Institute/Massachusetts Eye and Ear, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, has an immediate opening for Research Technician. The Dana lab is working on immunology of the eye. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician who will be responsible for animal work (surgery, breeding, disease scoring), tissue culture work, in vitro cell analysis and assisting lab work. Primary responsibilities include performing ocular microsurgery in mice, induction of ocular disease and disease scoring, real-time PCR, immunological assays, immunohistochemistry, and assisting with other lab tasks as needed. This position involves the skill to work with animals, and prepare cells for flow cytometry, ELISA, real-time PCR, and proliferation assays. The successful candidate will be very organized and a team player.
Requirements A minimum of a Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree is required, preferably in the Biological Sciences. At least 2 years of lab work experience after the degree is required. Experience in flow cytometry and analysis (DIVA, FLOWJO) is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail- and goal-oriented, and possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
