Description We seek a motivated Research Technician to join a research group in the Ocular Genomics Institute at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will carry out molecular biology, cell biology and genetic research studying inherited retinal degenerations under the supervision of Dr. Pierce and other senior members of the lab. The ideal candidate will be expected to perform a broad range of research activities including working with animal and cell-based models of disease using a wide range of molecular biology and cell biology experiments. The candidate must perform these tasks with speed, precision and understanding of theory behind methods used. Ideally, the candidate will have experience with some of these methods, but he/she will be trained regarding specific experimental methods and procedures.
Requirements Bachelor's Degree in biological or physical sciences plus at least one year of related laboratory experience or combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with handling mice.
