The candidate will bring a combination of in-depth SAP Technical knowledge, solution experience, and architectural leadership experience.
The focus of a HANA Architect’s expertise is typically in the planning and design phases of an implementation of an SAP business application on HANA. However, it could also be leveraged on strategic corporate initiatives such as business process improvement initiatives, establishing internal centers of expertise or developing ongoing architectural governance processes. The engagement model of an Architect is not strictly limited to the planning/design phases, but may also span the build and operations phases to ensure proper implementation and operationalization of the business solutions.
The HANA Architect is able to map business and functional requirements to create a comprehensive technology architecture which encompasses technical infrastructure requirements, system landscape components, and strategies for development, data integration, user access, and security.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Joining as a senior member of our consulting team, it is expected that along with extensive project experience with several full lifecycle implementations, enterprise architecture capability and knowledge of SAP architecture you will also bring an in-depth knowledge of networks, databases (structures and performance), cloud computing and IT infrastructure. You will also need to show evidence of working with senior stakeholders and partners to successfully deliver across a range of industry sectors, including Australian Government (Federal or State). In addition, we seek the following qualities in candidates at this level:
Independent execution of complex projects or programs/deliverables
Advisory / Delivery
Definition of the technology architecture including infrastructure requirements and system landscape components.
Map the Application and System landscape based on the Solution Architecture
Definition of strategies for system adaptation (development), data integration, user access, and security.
Specification of recommended procedures for implementing the technology architecture.
Map and validate performance indicators
Support of all phases from presales to operations
Support license & services sales to scope the project and define services required
Supporting sales in the evaluation process
Thought Leadership / Knowledge Management
Contributes to a functional or business related community
Supports Knowledge Management
Act as a Mentor for other colleagues
Developing and assessing alternative strategies for IT organization and support processes , IT Governance Framework and Merger & Acquisition Strategies (IT-focused)
Identifying the appropriate IT enabler to support the business strategy
Create IT value-based business cases to optimize technical system infrastructure
Support transformation management process
Develop IT specific organizational design for present and future
Experience & Educational Requirements
At least 5 years experience as a lead SAP technical solution architect required
2 years working in Enterprise Architecture
Enterprise architecture, Information architecture and Business architecture experience also desired
10 years work experience
Advisor in questions of SAP technology
Proven Experience in design and deployment of SAP HANA
Planning and leading of technical implementation projects
Plans and reviews concepts and detailed blueprints of IT projects
Strong communication skills with technical and project management focus
Acts as thought leader or moderator of a technology related community
Public Sector Industry experience is desired
Takes responsibility as a team leader
Acts as a coach for colleagues
Natural Leadership skills demonstrated (Go-To person)
Hands on experience with SAP products and technologies
Deep knowledge in at least one technical SAP related area
Delivery Management / Project Management / Escalation Management desired
Excellent people skills and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Professional Training & Certification
ITIL/TOGAF Foundation certification desired
