The Public Preparatory Network, Inc. (PPN) is a nonprofit organization that develops single-sex elementary and middle public schools that pursue excellence through continuous learning and data-driven instruction. Our model is designed to empower each student to build strong character, demonstrate critical thinking, possess a core body of knowledge and be on a predictive path to earn a degree from a four-year university.
Our network is currently comprised of three tuition-free single-sex public charter schools across five campuses and one tuition-free coed Pre-K six schools. Our campuses are: Girls Prep Lower East Side Elementary, Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle School, Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School, Girls Prep Bronx Middle School, Boys Prep Elementary School, and PrePrep: the Joan Ganz Cooney Early Learning Center.

The Student Recruitment Assistant will be an important member of the Public Prep team, assisting the Student Recruitment Manager in our family outreach and recruitment efforts. We are in need of administrative/clerical support to assist with the outreach, phone calls, mailings and general school promotion efforts.
Answer inquiries about our schools via phone and email with appropriate follow up
Preparation of outreach materials for Student Recruitment forums and events
Photocopying, preparation of folders, sign in sheets and other event materials
Help send mailings, canvas in communities and implement other recruitment strategies
Coordinate with teams of canvassers in the Bronx and Lower East Side
Attend and assist Staff and Student Recruitment Manager in off-site recruitment information sessions, fairs, and events as necessary
Create a comprehensive database of feeder school, community organizations, and child centered programs for mass distribution of recruitment materials and general outreach
Identify key staff and contact information
Mailings/Emailing of Recruitment Materials to above groups (will require mail merge)
Creating database of families who attend our/have attended our forums
Upload and log applications submitted via mail and email (will require accurate data entry)
Maintain and update database of applicants
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
Outstanding interpersonal skills, integrity and professionalism
Expertise in Word, Excel, Outlook and internet
Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin is preferred
A commitment to education reform and the charter school movement
Must speak Spanish
