TheCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA)assists Licensed Nursing Personnel. TheCNAassists patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assisting in maintaining a safe and clean environment. TheCNAmust be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit. TheCNAmust assist the licensed nursing personnel in meeting the education, physical, and psychosocial needs of patients based on their age-specific needs. TheCNAmust involve the patient, parent, and family/significant other in the plan of care. Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physician, staff or patient issues.

Responsibilities: * Assists nurses in performing direct patient care activities. * Stocks departments/rooms daily. * Exhibits positive attitude towards performance of duties/customer service skills. * Answers calls for assistance by staff and patients promptly. * Rounds on patients to provide appropriate comfort measures for patients. * Coordinates patient care activities with nurses. * Assists in keeping all areas of the Department neat, organized, and clean. Returns/cleans equipment after use. * Actively looks for ways to improve patient care. * Collects/processes specimens in proper, timely manner. * Promotes positive image of the Valley Regional Medical Center in all interactions.

Qualifications: * High School Graduate or GED preferred * Graduation from an approved Nursing Assistant program required * Long Term Care State Certification encouraged * BCLS required
