We are currently looking to hire students for our Autumn Internship Programme to our Budapest office in Hungary .
The position is part of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Finance Organization within the Investment Banking arm of Citi. EMEA Finance provides a wide variety of Accounting, Tax, Planning & Analysis, Controlling and Treasury services to Citigroup's EMEA region. Our Budapest office is a deeply integrated part of the EMEA regional hub, engaged in direct contact with the business and finance teams across the region. We currently employ over 220 colleagues from over 20 nations and are dealing with 50+ countries. Our product scope is comprehensive: It contains investment and institutional banking products, including cash, derivative as well as structured and exotic variants of Credit, FX, Equities, Money Markets, Rates, Commodities, Loans and other asset classes. We work closely with all other areas of the bank (including the Trading desks, Risk Management, Operations, and other areas of Finance) and are experts of the products traded, along with the associated risks and accounting complexities.
LOCATION AND DURATION
This Finance Internship Program is primarily aimed at students in their final year of university (though exceptional candidates at an earlier stage of study are going to be considered) and takes place in our Budapest office. This is a 6 month’ program running between October 2016 and February 2017.
At present time we are only accepting candidates who can work with us for 32 hours/week or more throughout the term .
During the internship period you will be allocated to one of the Finance teams and will be given graduate level tasks that give you a unique opportunity to gain hands on knowledge on how financial and capital markets operate, to get an in-depth look at complex products from a financial, accounting and controlling perspective and to experience working in a truly multinational environment.
This is a paid, tax effective internship program and remuneration is considered very competitive amongst similar internship roles available in Hungary.
Exceptional interns may be offered an opportunity to continue their internship (at another rotation with another team) or offered a permanent junior level role.
We are offering Summer Internship roles in 2 areas and tasks would be selected based on academic experience as well as interview performance:
Responsible for controlling, analyzing and reporting the financial performance of our Sales, Trading, Investment Banking and Corporate Lending Businesses. The roles include understanding of the trading strategies including the products (such as equity, FX, commodities, credit, rates), hedging, pricing, funding, risk management, and regulatory implications.
Prepares statistical and prudential reports for the local regulators in various EMEA countries. Calculates capital adequacy figures under Basel 3 and reports the Balance Sheet, the Income Statement and their breakdowns according to the rules of their local regulators.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
• Currently completing a BSc/MSc/PhD at a Hungarian higher education institution (with a valid Hungarian student ID card) in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Controlling or similar
• Excellent verbal and written English
• Interest in the world’s financial markets
• Understanding of financial products (stocks, bonds, derivatives)
• Sound accounting foundations (have studied accounting for at least two semesters)
• Excellent numerical and analytical skill
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines, pro-active attitude
