Robert Half Finance & Accounting Manufacturing firm seeks Accounting Manager looking to grow in Burlington, Massachusetts

Robert Half is working with a manufacturing mid size firm in search of an Accounting Manager to join their team. Our client has been selected twice by R&D; magazine as one of the most significant companies of the year. Working directly with the Director of Accounting, this Accounting Manager opportunity affords a new challenge with exposure to high level accounting and finance. Primary responsibilities for the Accounting Manager position include:

  • Supporting and promoting the long-term mission, objectives and growth of the company in the areas of accounting and finance, payroll, benefits, and contracts

  • Ensuring all management personnel have adequate, timely financial information to understand the impact of the decisions they take on company profitability

  • Managing the hiring, training and daily activities of personnel in accounts payable, payroll, labor reporting and billing

  • Working with others in the organization to troubleshoot accounting-related issues

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, as required

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly contractual and tax filings, as required. Additional Finance functions include assisting with:

  • Budget processing and related reporting tools

  • Maintaining accounting and corporate internal controls

  • Financial statement and government audits

  • Preparation of financial statements, financial reports and variance analysis

  • Preparation and review of DTI billings

  • Compliance with federal, state, and local tax and legal requirements

  • Periodic project management and financial reviews

  • Assisting the Director of Accounting and VP Operations with special projects

  • Assisting with quarterly and annual regulatory reporting (DCAA, DOE)

Requirements: Requirements for the ideal Accounting Manager include:

  • Bachelors of Science in Accounting or Finance

  • 7+ years of Accounting experience – preferable working with governments entities

  • Proficiency in project accounting software such as Deltek Costpoint and Deltek Time & Expense, as well as MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point and Cognos

  • Familiarity with FAR, indirect rate calculations, contract types (FFP, T&M;, CPFF)
