Kumon North America Marketing Specialist in Burnaby, Canada

Kumon is the world’s largest after-school math and reading enrichment program and one of the most established franchise businesses in the world — with more than 300,000 students enrolled and more than 1,500 individually owned and operated Kumon Math and Reading Centres in the U.S. and Canada alone.

This position is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performance team that is responsible for developing and implementing marketing initiatives across Canada. This individual brings marketing experience at various levels (national, regional, local – on and offline) in order to build awareness of the Kumon Brand and ultimately drive leads and new enrollments to local Kumon Math and Reading Centres.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quarterly promotional initiatives

  • Develop blog content to engage prospective customers and drive website traffic

  • Articulate student stories through both video and written form

  • Support in the development and execution of CRM strategies

  • Lead marketing initiatives based on area knowledge and expertise

  • Support in the development and execution of digital strategies (including social media)

  • Ensure brand communication elements are consistent and accurate, and are reflective of current brand strategy, plan and communication objectives

  • Train and educate both field members and franchisees on branding policies for the effective utilization of the local marketing materials/initiatives

  • Provides recommendations to current and prospective franchisees on local marketing business plans

  • Post-secondary degree (preferably in Marketing, Business or a related discipline)

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive marketing experience

  • 2-3 years of copywriting experience

  • Brand storytelling experience

  • Project management experience with ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills, and an eye for detail

  • Superior communication skills (both verbal and written) - Creative writing experience an asset

  • Equally comfortable consulting one-on-one or facilitating group meetings with a focus on delivering exceptional client service

  • Able to work well independently while functioning effectively as a team player in fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to translate the data into marketing/communication insights

  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours and travel as required

  • Experience with social media strategies, content marketing and public relations a must
