Position Description

The Associate Director, Global Site Management Operations (GSMO) Programs oversees resources allocation, project management, technical oversight of processes and procedures, CRO management and oversight. This position is regionally based position.

Main Areas of Responsibilities

  • Interface directly with the Clinical Team and Allergan management to ensure that expectations (rate and timeliness in protocol and monitoring) and deliverables across study functions are met for all tasks related to GSMO.

  • Select and launch sites

  • Monitor patient enrollment

  • Monitor patient data entry rate

  • Oversee data entry quality

  • Oversee source data verification

  • Oversee vendor quality for site management

  • Ensure consistency in GSMO practices across projects under a single program.

  • Contribute to decisions and process development within the GSMO management team.

  • Oversee field operations staff in identifying, qualifying, and educating site staff.

  • Ensure, through the field staff, that the sites are selecting appropriate subjects at a rate that will meet study goals.

  • Verify, through the field staff, that the subjects are safe and their data collected and monitored per study timelines.

  • Oversee site-correction efforts and for working with the Regional Operations Managers to correct any deficiencies or training needs in the monitoring staff.


  • Allied Health Professions degree (PA, RN, RPh, relevant clinical experience, or four-year life science degree).

  • Minimum 5 years monitoring experience in a pharmaceutical or medical device company or clinical research organization.

  • Experience in startup, maintenance and close out of studies. Selection and training of monitors for studies.

  • Formal Project Management experience (3-5 years)/training necessary in order to look across processes and staff. Preferred Skills/Qualification

  • Knowledge of prediction models and risk analysis is essential.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional and Microsoft Project is a plus.
