Missions and objectives:
Forecasts & Budget: Theindividual is responsible for compiling, analyzing and submitting thecommercial GMA forecast and budget (expenses & headcount). Responsibilities also include providingfinancial analysis and support for budgeting, forecasting, and long-rangeplanning; as well as preparing financial narratives, headcount reporting,provide drivers, data for financial presentations to senior management andanalyzing business risks / opportunities. This role is for US and Global regions.
Actuals: Theindividual will be responsible for completing monthly accounting andreconciliations. Additionally, they will need to construct cross-walks betweenbudget/forecast and actuals, and assume responsibility for the corporate GlobalMedical Affairs cost centers (reviewing requisitions and invoices). Shareresponsibility in executing accounting and business procedures, ensureintegrity of processes and drive systems and financial reporting in compliancewith corporate finance standards.
Business partnering: Theindividual is the finance business partner for the MS & Oncology Medicalteams and as such the main finance interface for the managers of this part ofthe Sanofi Genzyme GMA organization.
Other: Responsible for data forpresentation materials to assist Global Medical Affairs leadership in reviewand decision making. Provide support to business partners in establishingoperating procedures to ensure the execution of organizational goals andobjectives. Educate client groups on all aspects of financial policies toensure full compliance. Drive special projects and analyses that provide astrategic financial analytical approach to decision making and the deploymentof corporate resources. Make recommendations to improve accounting andfinancial reporting processes and systems and address the functions' financeand accounting issues. Develop reporting for the Commercial GMA team.
Bachelor’s s degree with 8 years of experience in Finance /Controlling / Accounting. Master’sdegree preferred.
Strong accounting skills and experience and ability to driveFinancial monthly closing activity
Advanced knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint., SAP preferred.
Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry
Mgmt. Reporting and Forecasting tool experience: IBM Cognos TM1,Hyperion/Essbase, Qlikview
