Our client is seeking a self-motivated professional accountant to join its Global Policies & Procedures team. This individual will be responsible for developing global accounting policies in order to ensure accurate and consistent application of US GAAP throughout the Company. They will consult and provide technical accounting research assistance to various Finance functions to ensure the proper application of US GAAP. This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering training on issued policies and procedures and identifying and implementing process improvements. They will also play a key role in the implementation of the new lease standard. They will also aid in researching and communicating accounting implications to key stakeholders in relation to potential transactions and deals. Primary Responsibilities: ---Develop global accounting policies and procedures and assist in identification of policy revisions. ---Assist business unit teams and finance organization with the implementation and consistent application of global accounting policies and compliance with US GAAP. ---Review significant non-routine transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP. ---Draft technical accounting memos to document the Company's accounting positions and internal policies. ---Review new accounting pronouncements and implementation as applicable. ---Draft comment letters to the SEC in response to proposed changes in accounting principles and disclosures. ---Develop and deliver training on transactional activity, issued policies and procedures and on new accounting pronouncements. ---Assist in implementing the new lease standard. ---Review accounting implications for potential transactions/deals and communicate conclusions to key stakeholders. ---Demonstrate a commitment to Company core value. ---The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing.
