Our client, an amazing organization that helps children and families in need, is looking for a Controller to join their team!!! The Controller oversees and advises financial events including, but not limited to: cash receipts, A/R, A/P, payroll, bank statements, financial statements production and other related accounting issues in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: ---Bachelor's Degree in accounting, CPA preferred. ---Experience with computerized accounting systems. ---Experience in general ledger through financial statement production. ---Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as the ability to become proficient in other software packages and programs as necessary. ---Proven ability to supervise and develop staff, delegate responsibilities effectively and create team cohesion. ---Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. ---Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills. ---Payroll experience preferred. ---Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. ---Regular and predictable attendance. ---Maturity and sensitivity to cultural and individual differences. ---Ability to maintain professional demeanor while exercising judgment and discretion in work. ---Ability to follow oral and written instructions. ---Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional periodicals, professional journals, and/or governmental regulations. ---Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the Agency. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ---Prepare monthly closing and financial statements. ---Prepare quarterly financial results memos for senior management. ---Oversee cash/check receipts and accounts payable operations, including production of AP checks. ---Manage petty cash funds: distributions, reimbursements, and balancing. ---Oversee payroll operations and prepare monthly payroll reports. ---Process all electronic funds transfer transactions. ---Main contact for Agency VISA with issuing bank. ---Post monthly journals and reconcile balance sheet accounts. ---Reconcile bank statements. ---Prepare monthly payroll reports from ADP software. ---Prepare account analyses and year-end journal entries for the annual audit and assist with other audit projects as assigned by the CFO. ---Actively participate in the preparation of the annual budget as designated by CFO. ---Assist with the state and federal reporting requirements. ---Perform special projects as requested by the CFO
