Technical Operations

Technical Operations is the maintenance, repair and overhaul division of United. The department includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Job overview and responsibilities

Primarily responsible for providing technical planning, limit verification and tracking, and coordination with key stakeholder for item assignment and fix plan execution. The position acts as a key stakeholder in the coordinated plan for out of service aircraft, and special route/line hold work package plans.

Review, Plan and Schedule Approved Deferred and Carry Forward Items

  • Review and schedule MEL,CDL,CF,DF,OIL,FUP items as applicable to mission

  • Coordinate parts, special tooling, as other execution requirements as needed

  • Review and update log pages with appropriate part numbers and fix plan information (including troubleshooting information)

Out of Service Support

  • Assists in the planning and technical needs for out of service aircraft issues

  • Engages with Service Engineering and other entities in the process of work plan execution design

Collaboration with Network Operation Center/Field Disciplines

  • Participates in cross functional interaction with NOC disciplines (OPB/DD/FO/SW/LP/SK) and Station Field Planners/Line Planners

  • Participates in a 'working together' and collaborative environment consistent with Corporate standards with all employee group



  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant License

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)

  • Minimum 5 Years Line Maintenance and or Base/Turbine Shop production/Engineering/related experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

  • Microsoft Access, File Maker Pro

  • 7 years Line Maintenance Experience with some Supervision Experience
