As a Principal Technical Consultant, you will work directly with client and partner organizations requiring expert level technical assistance to deliver top quality technical solutions that drive business value. You must be able to mentor and teach more senior and intermediate level technical team members and contribute back your increasing expertise to our group and the SAP Hybris ecosystem, at large. The Principal Consultant leads internal technical teams and is responsible for the quality of technical deliverables during product implementation, enhancement, integration, or audit/review projects. The Principal Consultant is also expected to provide clients and partners with deep technical knowledge and product expertise based on real world experience so that, together, these teams can realize the full potential of the technology in order to meet the client’s short and long term strategic and short term business objectives.
Project complexity may vary from fairly straightforward to moderately complex, with single or multiple products and involve multiple environments (web, application, database servers). Work efforts focus primarily on delivering architectural, technical design, development and deployment services on engagements ranging from short-term consulting on a client/partner project team to full life-cycle implementation projects. Duties may be performed at customer’s site. Operates under minimal supervision on medium to large size projects involving multiple products and/or platforms.
Expert level knowledge of SAP Hybris Commerce platform
Knowledge SAP Hybris line of business (LoB) products, such as SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer, SAP Hybris Cloud for Sales, SAP Hybris Marketing, and SAP Hybris Billing.
Ensure SAP Hybris cutomer success by providing oversight to partner led implementations in order to ensuring that technical specifications, data models, and process flows meet high delivery quality standards that support customer business objectives
Collaborate SAP Hybris Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), customers and partners to assess application and technical requirements by applying knowledge of the requirements and past project delivery experience to help identify risks and prioritize tasks
Execute thorough analysis and review of solution design and architecture, coding practices, and performance to ensure the technical solution aligns with SAP Hybris best practices.
Support pre-sales activities by participating in sales meetings and workshops by demonstrating the clear value of the SAP Hybris product portfolio and the services offered by the SAP Hybris LoB.
Manage customer expectations
Design and conduct workshops with IT and business people
Work with the support team to determine how the applications are supported in production, including system performance and monitoring
Mentor and build career plans for intermediate and senior level consultants
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related field or equivalent experience
10 years of total IT experience. 4 years of SAP Hybris experience.
Broad and deep technical experience of implementing and supporting large, complex multi domain, multisite server-based systems/networks, ideally within an external customer facing and SLA-driven environment
Excellent knowledge in OO software architecture/design
Java/J2EE with Spring experience, at least 6 years hands-on programming
Experience in software development lifecycle methodologies, with a focus on Agile methodologies
Experience working with Web Services (SOAP & RESTful).
Knowledge of SQL, Relational Database Management Systems (DBMS), HTTP, HTML and XML.
Experience in front end technologies, UML and framework technologies
Knowledge of micro-service architectures.
Must be used to working to specific standards and have a structured approach to architecture and design
Previous customer facing experience, preferably working across lines of business within customer organizations
Strong improvement focus with the ability to work in a fast-evolving and fast paced environment where creative thinking and enthusiasm are required
Experience in eCommerce systems, product information management (PIM) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and/or automated database publishing
Very good English language skills (verbal & written)
Open-minded, strong in communication
Excellent problem solving, presentation, organizational, and planning skills
Self-motivated, ability to pick up things quickly
Willingness to travel internationally, as required
