Starting salary - $21.73 per hour

Please note that this position will be hired under the subsidiary Continental Airlines collective bargaining agreement or divisional work rules until a joint agreement or combined divisional work rules are obtained.


As a Line Technician you will work in a fast-paced O'Hare department. The Technician plays a very important role in providing quality service to our internal customers. The Technician should have strong working knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of aircraft maintenance work, including:

  • Servicing, repair and proper work documentation in accordance with company procedures and specifications

  • May be required to exercise Aircraft Release Authority

  • Work generally recognized as technician's work in shops, maintenance bases and line stations on aircraft (including power plants), parts and other related work

  • Responsible for the work performed and may be required to test, check and certify for service the work performed




  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or education equivalent


  • FAA A&P License required


  • Twelve months experience required in trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of aluminum and/or composite skinned pressurized jet/turboprop aircraft required


  • Must be 18 years old

  • Valid US driver's license (revoked, suspended or expired are not considered valid)

  • Must pass 10-year background check

  • Must be willing to take a pre-placement physical abilities test, hearing and vision tests, and drug screen

  • Must be flexible to work any shift in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends and holidays

  • Candidate must be able to clear a fingerprint-based criminal history check in order to obtain and retain credentials necessary for the position

  • Position-specific clearances include but are not limited to FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal service clearances required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is essential function of the position
