PRP Recycling Sorter in Chicago, Illinois


  • Remove contaminates from conveyor belt as material moves past.

  • Responsible to clean work area when line is stopped and as assigned.

  • Communicate with other employees, and assist other employees as needed.

  • Identify equipment and personnel safety issues; coordinate with Shift Lead to resolve. Aid in the Safety and Operations training of new employees.

  • Maintain compliance with company and OSHA policy in regards to operations and safety issues, including but not limited to: lockout/tagout procedures, fork truck operation, proper use of PPE, and sharps discovery and handling.

  • Must clearly understand and perform all procedures and equipment per training and must attend all required training sessions (including safety training).

  • Must be attentive to potential contamination issues and handle issues appropriately.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes, vibration and loud noise. Employee must endure all weather conditions and must be committed to safety at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is a plus.

  • 2 years of stable work experience, warehouse or assembly line experience is a plus.

  • Able to pay attention to details, quick learner and dependability is required.

  • Ability to follow directions and attention to detail with good hand-eye coordination.

  • Fork truck experience and license/certification is a plus

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to wear a hard hat, steel-toe shoes and other proper PPE is required.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
