Job Description

The People Soft Financial Systems Manager is responsible for supporting all accounting areas and lead project related initiatives required to meet the changing needs of the organization.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage implementation efforts on new approaches for resolution of problem areas in accounting department.

  • Develop, plan and manage implementation of projects in the accounting department.

  • Participate in the development of each aspect of the program resolving the most complex technical work problems. Solutions involve multiple application of projects and require resolution of complex operational and integration issues.

  • Function as project manager on selected enhancements to PeopleSoft Financial Systems.

  • Ensure business unit staff is provided with communication to support their operation and improve accountability for financial integrity.

  • Support the functioning of PeopleSoft Financial and other related systems and advises applications support staff as appropriate.

  • Provide guidance and expertise to accounting staff to troubleshoot problem areas.

Education & Professional Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or equivalent from a four-year college or university.

  • Five to ten years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidate Profile:

  • 5-10 years of PeopleSoft Financial Management system (PSFM) experience required, pertaining to projects, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, asset management and purchasing.

  • Knowledge of the corporation’s business units and their financial support requirements.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles gained through working in an accounting environment.

  • Ability to translate general accounting strategies into workable day-to-day tactics for staff.

  • Knowledge and expertise of all functional areas within the accounting department.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills to identify problems in business processing and to develop workable solutions that have cross-functional impact.

  • Proficiency with various software applications programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
