The Medical Service at the VA Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH is seeking dynamic, clinical educator physicians with training, interest, and expertise in hospital medicine to join a team of dedicated hospitalist educators. The hospitalist team provides attending coverage on the resident general medicine ward teams and also medical comanagement for the surgical and mental health service. These positions are full time clinical track with appointments with the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and opportunities to work with medical students and residents, quality improvement, and lean initiatives. The hospitalist manages patients through the continuum of hospital care, receiving admissions from the emergency department, transfers from outside hospitals and outpatient clinics and providing care throughout their hospitalization. Hospitalist attendings will round with interdisciplinary teams including internal medicine residents, third and fourth year medical students during their medical clerkships and subinternships, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other medical providers. There is a dedicated critical care service with separate critical care attendings and TeleICU coverage. Comanagement for medical care of surgical and mental health patients is also performed. Subspecialty consultations are available for all internal medicine specialties. A wide degree of creativity and latitude as well as excellence in medical education are expected.

- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience: Hospitalist and teaching experience preferred.
