Location: 2235 E. 55th St. Cleveland, OH 44103 Shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
Assist the General Manager with directing program participants and employees engaged in preparing foods for cafeteria, catering, or ready-to-serve packages. Supervise the preparation of foods for the School Food Program, and all other food service areas, assist with food production and packaging, assist with assigned supervisory activities of Food Packaging Workers and Food Packaging program participants. Place daily orders for food production, Guidance Grill and Snack Shop. Assist in planning and pricing menus, keeps cost records, and assists budget controls to ensure profitable food service operation. Assist in examining incoming purchases for quality and to ensure that purchases are as specified in the order. Assist in controls to guard against theft and waste. Assist in approving invoices or bills for payment. Oversee activities of trainees at all times while in the kitchen and production areas. Work closely with GM to smoothly incorporate trainees into daily activities in kitchen, serving line and production areas. Coordinate activities such as dishwashing, staging, delivery drivers, porters, material handlers, ensure storage and distribution of food products and supplies. Inspect kitchen and storerooms to ensure that premises and equipment are clean and in order. Clean work areas, equipment and utensils, segregates and removes garbage, and steam clean or hoses garbage containers. Assist in growth of sales and acquiring new contracts.
Required Skills and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3-5 years practical experience in the Food Service Industry. ServSafe State Certification and HACCP certification preferred.
