The Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center is a 673-bed tertiary healthcare facility which provides care to over 100,000 veterans in northern Ohio. We provide care through our main medical facility at the Wade Park campus, 13 community based outpatient clinics, and 3 vet centers. The Louis Stokes Cleveland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for a Physician (Orthopedic Surgeon) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Orthopedic Surgery. The Physician (Orthopedic Surgeon) will function in Surgical Service. The Physician (Orthopedic Surgeon) duties include:

  • Performing Orthopedic Surgery (Arthroscopy/Sports Medicine, Shoulder Surgery, and Total Joint Replacements).
  • Providing pre-operative and post-operative outpatient care.
  • Providing inpatient consultation and management.
  • Participating in resident teaching.

Relocation Expenses: Relocation expenses are not authorized for this position.

In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following requirements:

  • U.S Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Completion of first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.

Preferred Experience:

  • Two years experience due to the high degree of complex orthopedic cases.
  • Board certified or eligible in orthopedic surgery.
  • Fellowship training in orthopedics with an interest or experience in Total Joints, Sports Medicine/Arthroscopy, and/or Shoulder Surgery.
