EMC Sr Systems Engineer (MSpecialist) in Cleveland, Ohio
The MSpecialist is a consultative, strategic pre-sales technologist focusing on the integration of EMC and key Microsoft technologies in the areas of database, cloud and collaboration. MSpecialists work with a specified sales geography to establish and maintain the knowledge and acumen of sales and pre-sales personnel, ensuring they are optimally prepared and aligned to support Microsoft-related initiatives within the geography. They also support sales directly for strategic customers, and liaise with the rest of the EMC Microsoft Business Unit to ensure that EMC’s products and solutions are well aligned with those of Microsoft. The key Microsoft applications and platforms for EMC are Hyper-V, System Center, SQL Server, Azure, Azure Pack/Stack, Exchange, SharePoint, and Office 365.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Align with a sales geography to assure EMC’s capability to meet the needs of Microsoft application and platform customers
Establish and foster a community of “Champions” within the assigned geography to ensure a breadth and depth of Microsoft related knowledge across the geo
Conduct training for Account Systems Engineers (SE), Minors, sales, and delivery personnel to ensure consistent delivery of messaging and solutions
Work with sales leadership to proactively identify strategic customer initiatives
Work with Account SEs to develop and execute ongoing plans to address strategic customer initiatives
With the Global Functional Lead, develop and track metrics to demonstrate the level of effectiveness of these initiatives within the geography
Communicate and track ideas for product and solutions that would enhance EMC’s ability to serve the Microsoft-focused customer base within the geo
The ability to proactively develop and communicate EMC value for the key application areas
Deep knowledge in at least one Microsoft application or platform product
Database (SQL Server, Azure DB, OLTP, Data Warehouse)
Cloud (Azure, Hyper-V, System Center, Azure Pack/Stack)
Collaboration (Exchange, SharePoint, Lync, Office 365)
Moderate depth of knowledge in all key Microsoft application & platform products
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Microsoft certifications are desired
