Under the direction of the Chief Radiology Technologist, Director of Medical Imaging, and Staff Radiologists, theCTTechnologistis responsible to safely and proficiently perform computerized tomography imaging procedures and related patient care according to, government regulations, physician orders, policies and procedures of the Medical Imaging Department, and policies and procedures of the hospital.
This position will be responsible for the medical imaging and related care of patients:
· Infancy Birth to Eighteen (18) Months · Toddlers Eighteen (18) Months to 3 Years · Preschool Age 3 to Age 6 · School Age Age 6 to Age 12 · Adolescent Age 12 to Age 18 · Young Adult Age 18 to Age 40 · Middle Age Age 40 to Age 65 · Older Adult Age 65 and Over
EDUCATION, LICENSE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of a 2 year accredited school of Radiologic Technology or comparable training.
- Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.).
Current M.R.T. registry with the Texas Department of Health.
Adequate CT experience and proven competence as determined by CT Supervisor, Department Director, and Medical Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1. Associates, Diploma or BSRT degree in Radiologic Technology 2. Previous experience in CT in a clinic or hospital setting is preferred.
LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED 1. Current registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) 1. Advanced certification in CT required within 6 months of employment 2. Current licensure by the Texas Department of Health as an MRT 3. Current BLS from American Heart Association
Working Hazards or Risks - Routine hazards and risks involved in performing radiological procedures. Potential for musculoskeletal injuries due to moving/lifting equipment and patients; potential for exposure to infectious processes; potential for exposure to radiation.
OSHA Blood Borne Risk level is: _ _ o _Risk Level 2_– All employees in this job classification have occupational exposure.
