Conroe Regional Medical Center is being recognized as a comprehensive regional tertiary referral center after expanding to 360 beds, a staff of 1,200 with over 250 physicians on staff. Both the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Emergency Department are Level III services - providing higher levels of care that are not readily available in many regions between Dallas and Houston. The recently opened and expanded Intensive Care and Cardiac Care Units provide state-of-the-art technology and monitoring for as many as 36 patients at a time. Conroe Regional Medical Center is currently looking for a RN Clinical Educator.
Under the supervision of the Director, Organizational Development/Education and Chief Nursing Officer, the Clinical Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, facilitating and evaluating new and continuing education programs, in-service education, and orientation for nursing and other clinical and support personnel in the hospital. In addition, the Clinical Educator is an active facilitator of clinical education activities, team-building, and customer service.*I. **_RESPONSIBILITIES:_***
1. Assists in the development of an overall educational program which is congruent with the stated mission, values and business strategies of Conroe Regional Medical Center. 2. Assesses the educational and performance needs of staff in collaboration with the CNO, the Director of Human Resources and Director of Organizational Development/Education and other department Directors in formulating orientation and continuing education programs to coordinate these activities for maximum effectiveness. 3. Maintains accurate program documentation regarding program hours, attendance, and, as applicable, costs. 4. Participate in Division wide Education initiatives. 5. Coordinates provision of educational programs to assist in meeting professional and certification needs of staff through hospital-based and outside programs. 6. Oversees the facility-wide Life Support classes including serving at BLS TCF, registration, supplies and equipment, instructor liaison, communication of annual calendar, and all other duties associated with the Life Support function. 7. Coordinates patient educational materials with clinical departments within the facility. 8. Collaborates with staff assigned to the education function within the hospital departments. 9. Is actively involved in Quality Improvement initiatives as assigned. 10. Maintains own professional growth through appropriate organizations, workshops, seminars, and other self-directed educational endeavors, including proficiency of bedside nursing. 11. Is responsible for content, periodic review, update, and delivery of New Hire Clinical Orientation and Annual Clinical retraining. 12. Plans, coordinates, and conducts regular educational programs for staff to acquaint them with new procedures, equipment, operational standards, best practices, and other developments in patient care techniques. 13. Collaborates with department Directors and staff to develop and revise policies/procedures/practices based on clinical best practices. 14. Develops, implements, and evaluates the hospital’s competency assessment programs. a. With input from nursing leadership, validates core and department specific competencies. b. Evaluates and validates new hire competency and effectively communicates status, suggested developmental plan, and other findings and recommendations to the appropriate manager/directors. 15. Completes all other duties as assigned. 16. Supportive of the ethics and compliance programs set forth by HCA demonstrated by: A. Upholds code of conduct. B. Setting high standards of performance for self and others. *I. **_EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:_*** A. Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse, BSN required, Masters Degree preferred. B. Clinical expertise in medical/surgical nursing or higher (i.e. critical care) C. BLS required D. BLS Instructor preferred; ACLS Instructor preferred
