Softworld is currently recruiting for an HBSS Engineer for a position based in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and tuning Host Based Security System (HBSS) policies and infrastructure for this highly visible government program. You will also perform verification and troubleshooting across all HBSS modules, and install, configure and maintain ACAS. This role will work in a matrixed team of systems engineers, operations and security staff to gather requirements and leverage good practices to install, configure, deploy and maintain both HBSS modules and the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), and other dependent systems. Ideally, you will have a good engineering and systems and network administration background (MS Windows, UNIX or Linux) and possess the ability to communicate, lead discussions, prepare presentations, and present to technical and non-technical senior leaders. You must have experience with the use and application of vulnerability assessment tools, including Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), checklists, and Security Requirements Guides (SRG). Secret clearance required. Security+ cert required and you must be able to obtain a CISSP or CASP if you do not have one already.

Required Skills: • Bachelor’s Degree and10 years experience with systems engineering and/or administration • Secret clearance • DISA approved HBSS certification and ACAS certification • Security+ certification or higher • At least 2 years experience implementing HBSS and standard modules including: • McAfee Agent (MA), Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Policy Auditor (PA), VirusScan Enterprise (VSE), Rogue System Detection (RSD), Asset Baseline Monitor (ABM), Operational Attribute Manager (OAM), and Asset Configuration Compliance Module (ACCM) • Experience with HBSS ePO server administration and maintenance • Experience with developing policy for HIPS firewall, HIPS application whitelisting, HIPS intrusion prevention exclusions, DLP exclusions, and VSE exclusions • Ability and Experience with configure hardware/software in accordance with DISA STIGs and Air Force Task Orders (TOs) • Familiarity with troubleshooting McAfee System Core Files • Knowledge of HBSS HIPS signatures and verification of signatures and exceptions • Experience with troubleshooting issues using ACAS Scanner's asset scans If interested in learning more, please forward your resume for immediate consideration!
