Riverside Community Care is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join our community-based PACT program in the Norwood/Needham/Dedham area.

PACT is an evidence based model of providing comprehensive recovery oriented mental health services to people living with the experience of serious mental illness who may also have substance use problems and/or involvement with the criminal justice system. PACT services are highly individualized and are delivered by a mobile, community based, multi-disciplinary team of highly dedicated staff who work with people to meet their unique rehabilitation needs, improve functioning and enhance their roles within the community.

This position is full time, 40 hours a week. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor and help establish programming in the area of substance abuse and mental illness.

Working as an integral member of the PACT Team, the Mental Health Counselor will provide rehabilitation and support services, guided by the individual’s service plan. Services will include assisting person’s served with meeting their housing and employment needs. This position requires one evening per week and one weekend day per week.

Pay rate: $16.35/hour

Schedule: Tuesday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 12pm-8pm, Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 8am-4pm

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer fluency (including Microsoft Office and Outlook) required
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and access to available, dependable transportation required for daily local travel Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • At least 1-2 years experience working in the community with adults who have severe mental illness
  • Criminal Justice or Vocational Rehabilitation background preferred
