Description

Primary Purpose

This role will be responsible for executing the Essendant brand graphic design.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute packaging production to adhere to current established brand guidelines over a range of packaging formats and dielines.

  • Apply designated branding while using content files to produce meaningful, correctly branded packaging. Review, audit and proof packaging content for accuracy.

  • Create 3-D Photoshop renderings and image formatting.

  • Review, determine and recommend optimum packaging formats.

  • Monitor and execute regulatory markings.

  • Interface between suppliers and Merchandising for packaging projects.

  • Communicate with Essendant international offices and suppliers for artwork projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Understand and demonstrate Essendant’s Core Values.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability/Other

  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite applications.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently, shift priorities as needed, and meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks.

  • Packaging experience in a broad range of consumer goods from office product, office furniture, technology, food service, janitorial and sanitation or educational background in these areas.

  • Adept at working in a closely collaborative team environment.

  • Displays an eagerness to learn new skills and knowledge and apply to ongoing projects.

  • Demonstrates the flexibility to take on tasks outside the designated “design” role.

  • Ability to integrate multiple streams of content input to produce packaging which reflects the desired content and adheres to the required brand standards.

  • Ability to independently manage projects, acute attention to detail and self-discipline to review your own work.

  • Ability to meet demanding deadlines, shift priorities as necessary and remain flexible and adaptable.

  • Ability to accept direction.

  • Excellent time management skills with a quick execution style.

  • Expectation of working in a cross-cultural environment and across multiple time-zones.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design preferred or equivalent creative art background with design capabilities

  • 1 - 3 years of experience as an in-house designer, in an agency setting, or similar fast-paced, demanding environment with moderate supervision or equivalent educational experience
