I. Position Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center of providing innovative and comprehensive care to patients and their families. • Supervise daily financial operations of the department • Provide leadership over direct reports in order to meet and exceed organizational/departmental expectations. This includes, but is not limited to conflict resolution, staff learning, following policy and procedure and effective communication • Ensure management and regulatory compliance of the financial process for the applicable service lines. • Resolve patient, staff and physician concerns effectively • Ensure new staff orientation occurs and take initiative and follow-through with annual staff competencies. • Perform and maintain expertise within the scope of Transplant Financial Services • Perform analysis of complex cases • Make decisions of importance on a regular basis • Perform quality analysis • Identify and resolve issues in the financial approval, coordination and coverage functions of the department • Perform quality analysis, identify and resolves issues in the billing & reimbursement (MSO) functions of the department • Implement and maintain department processes and procedures • Manage staff scheduling and payroll duties • Write and/or revise policies and procedures as necessary • Complete staff yearly evaluations • Assist program leadership with all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision, facility and department goals

II. Position Requirements:
• Education: Baccalaureate degree required. Master’s degree preferred
• Experience: o Minimum of five years progressive medical insurance benefit coverage preferred to include assessment, processing and invoices o HMO/PPO experience o Knowledge of provider networks o Experience in an acute care facility with managed care contracting strongly preferred.
• Special Qualifications: o Understanding of UNOS policies and CMS standards, MSDRGs, ICD 10 procedure codes o Ability to analyze detailed reports, statistical data, and financial reports. o Advanced reasoning, mathematics, oral & written communication skills. o Medical terminology and working knowledge of commercial and Medicare benefit coverage. o Strong problem-solving and organization skills.
III. Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by supervisor. Employee will be expected to perform job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
