The Data and Analytics Team in Investor and Custody Services Technology has responsibility for foundational data services (market and reference systems), self-service analytics and data as a service platforms within Citi’s Investor Division. Established in 2014 the team has grown rapidly to a headcount of 70+ staff based in Dublin, New York, Pune and Shanghai. The team includes highly talented and experienced architects and developers in the area of service oriented architecture, Data Lake and big data technology, data warehousing, data quality and data discovery and visualization.
In this role you will join a core stream of development responsible for building the next generation of data ingestion framework for internally and externally accessible DaaS for Citi’s Securities Services Technology division. You will contribute to the design, development, testing and deployment of secure, distributed and highly available framework built on top of Spark, CDH 5 (Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Flume) and Elastic technologies. You will be challenged to innovate, contribute to the full SDLC and deliver against agreed quality assured release schedules towards Citi’s most exciting next generation data discovery systems.
Candidates must have an excellent development history in one or more recognized companies indicating expertise across the full SDL. Candidates should have proven experience of working in an agile (Scrum) environment in scalable data-driven projects. Strong development skills are required and should be demonstrable with thorough understanding and application of:
•A solid track record of architecting and designing large-scale high-throughput data solutions.
Expert knowledge with big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Yarn, Spark, Sqoop, Flume including development, administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, performance optimizations.
•Experience in a data standardization, data quality and data governance process implementation
•Experience with open source software and programming languages (Scala).
•Proven ability to research, assess and recommend architecture, technologies and vendors
•Ability to drive development of solutions, from architecture to design and development
•Ability to lead by example and mentor other developers
Qualifications and Competencies
Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, technical aptitude, ambition and a demonstrable example of innovation in previous roles.
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
•Extensive years in data integration implementation/design
•Extensive years of experience in any Java/Scala/Python
•Extensive years in Hadoop ecosystem
•Extensive years in Hadoop data integration tools (Sqoop, Flume, Spark)
NICE TO HAVE:
•Knowledge about REST API
•Knowledge about HTTP protocol
•Knowledge about PII data masking
•Knowledge about cluster resources control and monitoring
•Knowledge about Agile
•Extensive years in Lucene based enterprise search tools (Elasticsearch, Solr)
