Director of Inside Sales

The Director of Inside Sales is responsible for coaching and managing the members of the Inside Sales team whose goal is the achievement of sales quotas, revenue retention and growth, churn mitigation and customer satisfaction. The Director of Inside Sales is responsible for organizing, developing and managing the following: sales processes, workload and personnel for the Inside Sales Department as well as formulating projects, assessing program effectiveness and analyzing a variety of unusual problems and questions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure the achievement of sales quotas and retention goals for sales team and corresponding sales executives including new bookings and revenue quotas

  • Drive and expand sales into existing accounts to grow revenue

  • Monitor progress of sales executives on goals and job accountabilities. Provide developmental opportunities, delivering feedback and coaching to sales staff

  • Act in the best interest of each customer and ensures customer satisfaction by proactively addressing customer issues. Increase focus on retention and on-going customer satisfaction as means to protect and grow revenue base. Ensure coordination with other sales leadership to support overall retention objectives

  • Create and sustain a working environment that supports a team based selling channel (i.e. professionalism, respect, open communication etc.)

  • Ensure complete and accurate information is captured in salesforce.com CRM system

  • Proactively identify and respond to issues in the department that affect teamwork and goal achievement. Provide innovative and creative solutions in addition to leveraging peers in the problem resolution process

  • Take ownership for campaign implementation and ensure the sales campaigns are in line with the goals and objectives of the Inside Sales department

  • Provide strategic direction around optimizing the role of the sales executives

  • Lead by example through the effective display of personal and professional integrity

  • Coordinate the release of new policy, procedures, and campaigns as they affect the department

  • Evaluate opportunity to upgrade the department with additional automation when appropriate

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with field sales staff

  • Work with Marketing Managers to establish, develop, and manage Inside Sales programs, which include developing training, creating scripts, identifying and integrating lists, and achieving established targets

  • Work effectively with other departments to insure smooth flow of information and a cooperative intradepartmental environment

  • Evaluate and monitor the results of product campaigns. Plan future strategies accordingly

  • College degree requested; advanced degree preferred

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Inside Sales, preferably in a Business to Business setting

  • Strong leadership, people management, and team building skills necessary. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred

  • Technology industry experience a plus

  • Working knowledge of outbound and inbound telesales, basic marketing principles and practices, and personal computer systems

  • Demonstrated ability to sell and initiate programs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate concepts clearly and document procedures

  • Results-orientated and self-starting characteristics necessary

  • Proficiency with basic desktop programs, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to exercise judgment in prioritizing tasks in order to meet schedules and deadlines

  • Strong analytical skills along with the ability to identify problem areas, trends, and opportunities and take the appropriate action

  • Aptitude for evaluation, problem solving, planning, and organization

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
