CGI Federal is currently looking for a Windows Systems Administrator to support upcoming work for our EPA customer in Durham, NC.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, and manage tuning system performance. Operational system activities include configuration management, patching, updating and troubleshooting. Also optimize systems and resource utilization while continuing to provide system capacity analysis and planning. Plan and execute the installation and configuration of Windows systems into the client's data center, including configuring, monitoring, operating and maintaining systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Detailed understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 2008/2012 Server, and Red Hat Linux 4.x/5.x/6.x
Knowledge of BigFix, Symantec, RMAD, and RemoteAccess
Expert in backup strategies and implementation
Familiar with Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012
Experience with enterprise virtualization
Basic understanding of SAN-based storage presentation
Some experience with Cisco networking technologies
Experience with Datacenter/Server operational components (monitoring, management, etc.)
Experience with enterprise virtualization
Troubleshoot problems and/or escalate issues and problems to team manager
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and lead technical projects
Recommend system resource changes, as needed, and to accommodate future growth
Follow strict change management procedures
Occasionally respond to incidents that require physically working on network equipment in a data center in Research Triangle Park, NC, within thirty minutes of the incident.
Provide 24x7 on call support
Support non-production activities normally handled during regular business hours
Work on scheduled off-hours maintenance activities
Must be able to successfully pass/complete a CGI background check to start employment.
Must be able to work in the US for an indefinite period of time.
Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as an effective team player.
Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
VMware ESXi and/or vSphere
IBM Documentum and InputAccel
Experience configuring and maintaining Nagios or similar monitoring software
