Washington State DSHS On-Call, After Hours Social Service Specialists in Eastern Washington, Washington
The Division of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in Region One - Eastern Washington is recruiting high energy Social Service professionals with excellent child welfare assessment skills, willing to work part time/after hours positions. We are recruiting for all levels of Social Service Specialist, from College Career Graduate to Social Service Specialist 3.
Currently, we are needing to fill positions in Moses Lake, Clarkston, and Wenatchee.
After-hours positions respond to and investigate reports of abuse and neglect in a timely and efficient manner during the times that the local DCFS offices are closed. Local DCFS offices are closed from 5pm to 8am each day, weekends, and all holidays. The average number of hours per week is between ten and fifteen, depending on number of days on-call and number of calls received.
An after-hours position is excellent for those professionals already employed but wish to supplement their income.

Here are the Qualifications we are looking for:
At the College Career Graduate level:
A Bachelor's degree in social service, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field.
At the Social Service Specialist 1 level:
A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field. OR A Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field AND one year of social services experience.
At the Social Service Specialist 2 level:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, AND eighteen months as a Social Service Specialist 1 (formerly Social Worker 1). OR
A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, AND one year as a Social Service Specialist 1 (formerly Social Worker 1) or equivalent paid social service experience.
A Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field, AND two years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 1.
At the Social Service Specialist 3 level:
One year of paid social service experience assessing risk and safety to children and providing family-centered practice services (strengthening and preserving family units)
Plus one of following:
A Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied field AND one year as a Social Service Specialist 2. OR
A Master's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences, or an allied filed AND two years of paid social service experience equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2. OR
A Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, behavioral sciences or an allied field and three years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2.
A two year Master's degree in one of the above fields that included a practicum will be substituted for one year of paid social service experience.
Employees must successfully complete the formal training course sponsored by their division within specified time frame. Supplemental Information
